I'm booked in (I think...I've not heard anything.....?!) at Mounthooley hostel this weekend on an "Over the Hill Club" "do".
I want to bag The Bell - a little hump at the bottom of Colledge valley, Saturday is for Hen Hole/The Cheviot/Bizzle Burn - or the other way around... and Sunday is for a bit of Northumberland coast.
The Over the Hill Club is a club originally for TGO challengers who are mainly pretty well over the hill. They seem to let any old riff raff in nowadays, though (they let me in....!)
Bruno not allowed, unfortunately, so its a weekend in front of the fire/on the sofa for him.

Ah yes, drinking sensible, that means sitting down... and you're right about the age profile of this group...
I fully intend to drink quite a bit sensibly...
I haven't mentioned it to the dog yet.....

Mike

Some fantastic photos in the blog report.
I especially liked the footprints in the snow over the top of the fence!

Snow drifts on Whernside at the weekend allowed me to walk over a fence in the same way.

The snow's still quite good for walking, although the Cheviot snow was soft on the top so it was fairly hard work at times.
Incidentally, I've just heard that the President of the Over the Hill Club is 101 years old this week. (honestly!) Thats so far over the hill, he's coming up the other side...... I'm just a wee whippersnapper...
Nine Standards foir me this weekend - I'm trying to think of a way to do it that doesnt involve the Coast to Coast path - maybe from Tan Hill along the scarp...?
