hi, i recently attended this two day course, based in abercrave on the southern edge of the beacons. i can recommend this course to anyone looking for a beginners navigation course (they also do a more advanced course which includes night navigation) - the tutor is very knowledgable and i went away feeling a lot more confident in the hills. its also a lot cheaper than many courses at £30 per person for two full days learning. as such, you need to book well ahead to guarantee a place on it (details on their website). i'm not connected to the society in any way (its not for profit, anyway) but just thought some folks might benefit from a course like this. cheers, VH. _________________ 'Hike your own Hike' |

Very useful skill to have. Turn around three times and do you still know where you are?
There would be a lot less calls to rescue groups if hikers were required to have even a little navigation knowledge. _________________ Aspire to inspire before you expire. |
